‘I don’t care about the result’ – Pochettino on the City v Liverpool game

Tottenham Hotspur will take great joy in seeing their two main title rivals going head to head this Thursday.

The match comes at a good time for Spurs, as they look to cut down Liverpool’s lead at the top.

The top of the table clash guarantees at least one of the two sides will drop points, giving Spurs the perfect chance to pounce.

Tottenham got their own 2019 off to a perfect start yesterday afternoon, enjoying a simple 3-0 win away to Cardiff City.

This took Pochettino’s men back above the current Premier League holders Man City, meaning if the blues lose on Thursday, Tottenham will remain second in the league.

However, Spurs fans may be secretly routing for the Manchester club, as a Liverpool win would really secure their position as firm title favourites.

Pochettino revealed he would be watching the match, but insisted he did not care what the result was, he just wanted to enjoy the game of football.

Poch said (Football London): “I think we are going to watch it. In this country all the people are going to watch the game, but I will be in a neutral position trying to enjoy the game. I don’t care about the result, I just want to enjoy the spectacle and the game.”
