Niko Kranjcar has insisted that he is not coming to Tottenham Hotspur to be a temporary stop-gap for Luka Modric.

The Croatian international completed his switch from Portsmouth yesterday and is expected to fill the void left by Modric after he broke his leg last weekend against Birmingham City.

Kranjcar said: “I don’t feel like a sub for Modric. I came to play alongside him in the first team. We’ve proved we can play together in the Croatia team.”

  1. Time will tell whether he’ll fit in or not. Harry might just change tactic cause Modric plays better when he’s in the middle just behind the front line and will be fighting for position with Big Tom. On the left Niko will be there fighting it out with Lenon when Bentley’s on the right. Then comes in O’Hara after his loan spell in January to have a go also on the left. WOW, so many options to choose and a MIGHTY GOOD headache for Harry.

  2. Great signing and a great transfer window for Spurs. Remember Harry will be trying to win both the FA & Carling Cup’ this season. The squad looks very strong and when everyone is back fit there will be real compo for places. I’m really happy about the way the season has gone so far but i can’t get too excited.

Where we are at Xmas will be a real indication of what we can achieve.
