‘I don’t think he wated to come to me’ – Poch on Llorente celebration

Tottenham Hotspur did it the hard way last night, the only way they know how, as they came from behind to beat Watford 2-1 at Wembley.

Watford grabbed a goal from a corner in the first half, and went on to hold their lead until the final ten minutes of the game.

With the return of Son, good performances from the likes of Winks, Rose, and Llorente, as well as a more dynamic shape to the team, Spurs upped their performance levels dramatically from their two cup exits.

However, despite playing well, Spurs found it difficult to break down a stubborn Watford defence, and when Llorente embarrassingly missed an open goal, it looked as if it wouldn’t be their day.

On the 80th minute, Heung Min Son finally opened the scoring for Spurs, assisted by Llorente.

The big man then turned scorer in the 87th minute, nodding a Danny Rose cross into the far corner to send the Spurs dugout wild.

Llorente looked to run straight to Pochettino to celebrate, but the Argentine gaffer disagrees.

He said (Football London):  “Yes, but I don’t think he wanted to come to me! I moved into his run, I put myself in the way to try to celebrate with him. I was so happy. Normally I never celebrate goals but today I felt a bit of freedom to celebrate because we deserved to win. For me this game was so important because before the three points was going to be massive and for me massive in our position to keep our position in the table. Also so happy because Fernando worked so hard, working the last four games with Harry Kane out, he’s working so hard for the team, to help the team to win three points today is a massive thing. Always it builds the confidence in a striker and more when you are competing with Harry Kane, or behind Harry Kane, one of the best strikers in the world, always it’s difficult. Always you need time. But in all this time he’s been a fantastic professional and always was pushing and helping the team.”
