Heung-min Son has admitted that he has found it hard to watch back the footage of his miss in the 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
Both sides played out an entertaining draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday in what was Spurs’ first game in exactly two weeks following a number of Covid-related postponements.
Spurs created a hatful of golden opportunities against Jurgen Klopp’s side that were either missed or saved by Alisson, meaning it was really a case of two points dropped instead of a point gained.
Son, 29, got on the scoresheet himself to level the scores at 2-2 later into the match, but it could have been his second of the game had he put away a big chance in the first-half.
The South Korea international was frustrated that Spurs could not put the game to bed to secure what would have ultimately been a big three points, and admits watching back his missed opportunity makes him sad.
He told Premier League Productions (December 19): “When you play against Liverpool or these big teams, then you don’t get that many chances as we had. I think we needed to kill this game.
“Look at this [replay of his miss]. I don’t want to see because it’s a bit sad. It was a disappointing afternoon.”

A draw against Liverpool is always a decent result considering they are title challengers, but understandably this was a frustrating perforce given the win was there for the taking.
It was all about fine margins in the end, but the performance was really encouraging ahead of what’s to come.
