‘I feel comfortable’ – Harry Kane discusses the future at Spurs 10 years after debut

It has now been ten years since Harry Kane made his Premier League debut for Spurs and to mark the milestone, the star striker has been reminiscing about the past while also looking ahead to the future.

Despite making his senior debut for the club on August 25, 2011, in a Champions League qualifier against Hearts, Kane would have to wait almost a year exactly to make his Premier League bow.

Kane came on as a late substitute against Newcastle United on August 18, 2012, but would spend the rest of the season on loan at Norwich City and Leicester City.

Since establishing at Tottenham Hotspur in the 2013/14 season, Kane hasn’t looked back. He now has 249 goals in 388 appearances for the North London side (Transfermarkt).

The England captain is already considered a Spurs legend and has every chance of surpassing Jimmy Greaves’ tally of 266 goals to become the club’s all-time top scorer (MyFootballFacts).

Celebrating ten years since his introduction to the Premier League, Kane spoke to Tottenham Hotspur about his past, present, and future at the club.

He said: “For me, I feel comfortable. I feel in a great place, physically and mentally. We’ve got a really good squad, a fantastic manager. We’ve been moving in the right direction from the back-end of last year to now. We’re excited for what’s to come.”

“It’s gonna be a long season, with the World Cup in the middle of it, it’s gonna be a marathon. I’m excited for what we can do, and I know if we keep improving we can have a very good season.

“For myself, I know the records are there and the milestones are there in the back of my mind, but the next game is always the most important. The best way of getting to the milestones is to take it one at a time and score every game if I can.

“If I work hard for the team and do what the manager wants, hopefully, those things will take care of themselves.”

He’s clearly thriving under Antonio Conte and seems happy at the club now, so fingers crossed there’s a new contract on the horizon too, to see out his career with Spurs and cement his status as a true club legend.
