James Maddison and Ange Postecoglou are coming to the end of their first year at Tottenham Hotspur, and the former has praised his manager and believes he is leading the club towards success.

Postecoglou made Maddison one of his first recruits last summer following his move from Leicester City, and the playmaker proved to be a valuable asset for the Lilywhites in his first season.
With four goals and nine assists in 28 league games (Transfermarkt), Maddison was a key creative outlet for Spurs.
He will no doubt have wanted more, especially given the way injuries disrupted his rhythm halfway through the campaign.
Tottenham had a positive season overall, finishing fifth place in the Premier League, securing Europa League football for next season, and making improvements in most areas compared to last year.

James Maddison is pleased with direction Tottenham are heading in
Now, Maddison has been looking back on the season, discussing his relationship with Postecoglou, and where he feels the club is heading.
He told Sky Sports News: “I am experienced now, I have played under a lot of managers, I have seen a lot of things and Ange Postecoglou is taking the club in the right direction, believe me. It’s an exciting future ahead for Tottenham.
“He’s very demanding and has high standards, he’s won everywhere he’s been so when you have a man like that in charge, it’s refreshing as players because you can trust him and go along with him and hopefully success will be just around the corner.
“The message after [the friendly in Australia] was that we have had a transitional year with a lot of positives on the pitch and we need to kick on now and have a good summer, a good transfer window and be challenging even more next year.”
