‘I hope the club will listen’ – Conte asked about Tottenham’s transfer plans

Antonio Conte has admitted he is hopeful that Tottenham will listen to his suggestions regarding potential incomings and outgoings.

Conte admitted after Tottenham’s dramatic comeback against Leicester City on Wednesday that the club need to make new signings this month if they are to ‘fight for something important’ (Football.London).

However, with little over a week left until the transfer window slams shut, Spurs are yet to bring any new players through the door.

According to reports, Adama Traore is expected to be the first player to arrive at the North London club over the coming days, with the Tottenham boss allegedly wanting to convert the pacy winger into a right wing-back (Football Insider).

Apart from a right wing-back, the club are reportedly thought to be targeting a central midfielder and striker (The Telegraph).

Spurs are also expected to move on the likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli before the window closes (Daily Mail).

However, Conte has decided to keep his cards close to his chest regarding Tottenham’s transfer plans this month.

When asked about Ndombele’s potential departure, the 52-year-old told Football.London: “Honestly, I prefer to speak about this topic always with the club.

“For sure, I made evaluations about the squad but I have spoken with the club and I hope the club will listen to me.”

One would expect a flurry of activity in the final week of the transfer window, given that the likes of Alasdair Gold have revealed that the club are confident about making at least two new signings.

Traore’s arrival and Ndombele’s departure seems fairly certain. I also expect Dele to leave and for Spurs to bring in an attacking midfielder. Whether or not we would be able to sign a striker (or a centre-back) before the window closes, remains to be seen.
