‘I just play and have fun’ – Kulusevski claims he is ‘in a different world’ at Spurs

Spurs star Dejan Kulusevski has revealed the instructions Antonio Conte is giving him behind the scenes, including the fact his manager wants him to kill the opponent, in a sporting way, of course.

Since arriving in North London from Juventus in January, Kulusevski has become an integral part of Conte’s new-look Spurs side. The Swedish international contributed five goals and eight assists for Tottenham last season (Transfermarkt).

The Swede has also played a big part in getting Spurs off to an unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign, with a goal and an assist in the opening game against Southampton (Transfermarkt).

Spurs battled to a hard-earned 1-0 win against Wolves at the weekend, and Kulusevski has been praised for his role in that victory.

One of the many improvements Antonio Conte has made since he took over at Tottenham Hotspur in November 2021 is in the mentality of the players at the club, with the Italian renowned for preferring an aggressive attitude from his teams.

Speaking to Football.London, Kulusevski discussed the nasty approach and was asked whether he can meet those demands.

He said: “I don’t know! I can attack the goal more, for sure. Sometimes I’m just in a different world when I play. I feel so comfortable sometimes, so I just play and have fun, but he doesn’t want me to have fun! He wants me to kill the opponent in a sporting way!”

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s hard to imagine Kulusevski ever being nasty to anyone, but we’re sure Antonio Conte will get exactly what he wants from the Swedish star.

The impact Dejan has had since joining Spurs has been phenomenal, and at such a young age, there should be much more still to come.

As for Conte and his desire to kill the opponent, let’s hope that kind of attitude spreads throughout the team. In a sporting way, of course!
