‘I know what I want’ – Christian Eriksen on positive contract news

Most Tottenham Hotspur fans would swap all the new signings in the world for Christian Eriksen to pen a new deal.

Eriksen is currently well into the final 18 months of his contract, and would be available on a free come the summer of 2020.

If Tottenham can’t convince the Great Dane to sign a new deal soon, they may be forced to cash in on him this summer while they still can.

Spurs have already signed some huge first team players to new deals this season, including Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Heung-Min Son, and Davinson Sanchez.

The likes of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have also had their respective contracts extended by a year.

Eriksen has now come out with some positive news on his Tottenham future, claiming there is a ‘nice dialogue’ between his representatives and the club.

Tottenham will surely offer the midfield maestro something close to Harry Kane’s wage in order to tie him down long-term.

Eriksen told TV3 Sport: “[The future is] not something I’m thinking of. I focus on playing football, and there are many battles you have to think about which must be won.

“It is not the first time that there have been rumours, and when the newspapers write something, it is not something we are masters of. If there is nothing concrete, then I just comment on rumours.

“I think people know what I want, and I know what they [Tottenham] would like. There is a nice dialogue so there is nothing [new] there.” (As reported by Goal.com)
