‘I like La Liga’ – Ryan Sessegnon opens up on his transfer preferences for the future

In a recent interview with Pianeta Milan, Ryan Sessegnon opened up on his future transfer preferences amidst his successful loan spell with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

After a frustrating campaign in North London last season, in which the youngster struggled to both remain fit and earn first-team chances, Sessegnon was loaned out to Hoffenheim.

So far this season, the 20-year-old has cemented himself as a regular in Germany, playing 16 times and starting nine out of a possible 11 Bundesliga matches (Football London).

The Tottenham loanee has also scored twice and set up another two in the league, as well as representing his side four times in Europe (TransferMarkt).

Sessegnon claimed that, for now at least, he was fully focused on playing for Hoffenheim, although he mentioned La Liga and Serie A as two leagues he admires.

The left wing-back said (Pianeta Milan – relayed by Sport Witness): “I like La Liga which is a good league with great teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“But I also like Serie A a lot: there is Milan, a top club that I’ve always liked. But for now I am focused only on my team.”

It remains to be seen whether Sessegnon can return to North London next season and compete with the likes of Sergio Reguilon for a regular starting spot.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Sessegnon’s Tottenham career could depend a lot on whether Real Madrid look to re-sign Sergio Reguilon. If they don’t, Mourinho may have two like-for-like attacking left-backs and I suspect there will not be room for both.
