Tottenham Hotspur arguably produced their best result of the season so far as they turned over Borussia Dortmund 3-0 at Wembley in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.
While the first half was pretty cagey on the whole with Dortmund posing a threat on the counter-attack, the second half was a completely different story.
Spurs squeezed the game a little higher up the pitch and forced the away side into making mistakes. Tottenham capitalised on the German side’s mistakes and scored all of three of their goals from crosses into the box.
What made the performance and result even more impressive was that Spurs were still missing several key players but the team once against showed its ability to dig deep. One person who conveyed his delight at the result was former Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason.
Mason who came through the Spurs academy and made 70 appearances for the side, took to social media to post the following message:
Brilliant!!! I love this team 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 #COYS
