‘I miss him’ – Lucas Moura names star Spurs sold as ‘best’ he has ever seen

Lucas Moura has named Mousa Dembele as the player he misses the most at Tottenham and feels he is one of the best midfielders he has ever seen.

Dembele established himself as one of Tottenham’s most important players in central midfield after joining the club from Fulham in 2012.

He made 249 appearances over seven years for Spurs, before eventually departing for Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou City in 2019.

Moura, who joined Spurs in early 2018, spent around a season alongside Dembele, but has admitted that he misses the big Belgian’s presence for the North London club.

The Brazilian winger also labelled him as one of the best midfielders he has ever come across at club level, despite spending a relatively short time as his teammate.

Moura told Spurs’ official Twitch channel: “On the pitch, I miss Mousa Dembele, a really incredible player. He was the best midfielder I have seen.

“I miss a lot of players, football gave me a lot of friends and a lot of good players that I play with.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Dembele was such a good midfielder for Spurs with his ability to get out of tight situations, which made him such a key aspect of the side. He never really attacked when he clearly had that ability in his locker, but he would always dictate the play and tempo for the side.
