‘I think it might happen’ – Alasdair Gold admits Gareth Bale to Spurs is now genuine possibility

Football London journalist, Alasdair Gold has now revealed that he believes a Spurs return for Gareth Bale is a real possibility this summer.

Bale left North London for Madrid back in 2013 and hasn’t looked back since, winning four Champions League titles and a host of other trophies with Los Blancos.

However, tensions have been high in Spain of late and Bale appears to be on the sidelines of Zinedine Zidane’s future plans.

In fact, in a recent interview with Sky Sports, Bale revealed that he tried to leave Madrid last summer but the club were being difficult and blocked the move. He also refused to rule out a future return to the Premier League.

During his final season with Tottenham, Bale scored 26 goals in 44 games before sealing a world-record move overseas (Wikipedia).

While Alasdair Gold admitted that he usually rolls his eyes at questions regarding a Bale return, he claimed that if Real Madrid can help out on the wages, a loan move to Spurs could happen this year.
