Some Spurs fans are wishing that the club had not allowed Marcus Edwards to leave last summer after the winger’s impressive first season in Portuguese football.
The Spurs academy product left North London last summer to sign for Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes on the back of a decent season on-loan at Eredivisie side Excelsior.
The youngster already made his mark on his return to North London when he scored in a Europa League game against Arsenal at the Emirates earlier in the season.
It looks like the silky-left footer, who was once likened Lionel Messi by Mauricio Pochettino (Sky Sports), is finally starting to live up to his potential.
Edwards has statistically been one of top ten best players in Liga Nos this season, according to Whoscored.
The 21-year-old took to social media on Thursday to post a video compilation of his best moments this season.
Some of the skills the youngster showcased in the video had some Spurs fans desperately wishing that the club had not let the winger leave. Others hoped that Tottenham had inserted a buy-back clause in the deal they completed with Vitoria last summer.

Just knew if he had settled down and and got back to playing football he would be player we knew he could be, I was always saying to other spurs how much potential he had always believed was bad move for club to let him go hopefully levy got a first choice clause in contract

Spurs Web Opinion
Edwards’ talent was never really in question but it appeared as if the youngster had an attitude problem, which is why he didn’t get the first-team opportunities that he deserved. No one knows what happened behind the scenes and so it is unfair to be too critical of Pochettino for letting him leave.
