Alfie Devine still dreams of making it at Tottenham

According to reports, some Premier League sides have shown an interest in the Spurs academy midfielder in light of his impressive displays at Deepdale this season.

However, Devine has admitted that he still has not given up on his ambition of becoming a first-team fixture at Tottenham.

When asked if he still believes he can be a regular in the Spurs side, the midfielder told Sky Sports News: “Yeah, definitely. When you are at a club, the dream is always to play for them. Every single time I go back, that is something that I strive to do, and that’s my ambition.

“But sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. If that means another loan or.., whatever, just depends on what comes of it. It’s the same as the rest of the boys coming from a loan. You’ve got to find a way to get your rhythm going, playing and see where that takes you.”

Devine makes confident claim about Spurs amid struggles

As the young midfielder is making merry in the Championship, he is watching on as his parent club is fighting to ensure they do not drop down to the second tier themselves.

Devine believes there is no doubt about the quality that Tottenham have at their disposal, insisting that it is just a matter of the players delivering on the pitch.

When asked about Spurs’ struggles to avoid the drop, Devine said: “Yeah, that is something everyone can see, but obviously, everyone knows how good the players are there, so I just think for them, it’s about getting back to what everyone knows they can do, given the players they have”
