‘I will miss you all’ – Erik Lamela pens emotional tribute to Spurs fans

Erik Lamela has penned an emotional farewell message to Tottenham Hotspur supporters after departing the club earlier today.

The Argentine moved to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2013 from AS Roma and admitted within his message to the fans on Instagram that he stayed longer at the club than he maybe originally thought he would.

The 29-year-old leaves Tottenham after making 257 appearances in all competitions in eight seasons, scoring 37 goals and providing 47 assists (transfermarkt).

Lamela posted a photo of himself on Instagram celebrating a goal against Manchester United along with the caption: “Spurs fans … What can I say? It was a very long journey together, maybe more than I thought, but this club has my heart. I feel the shirt the way you fans feel it. Many good memories over the years and I thank my teammates for these years together. I thank the people who work at the club who have always treated me excellently. I thank the fans for cheering me on in every game, I will miss you all . I will carry this club with me forever”
