One of the longest running transfer rumours across the summer was Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United (Independant).
The Belgian centre back is well into the final year of his contract in North London, and there have been no signs so far of a new deal on the table.
However, if the feeling is that Toby may want one last big move in order to win some trophies, then perhaps he is now laughing.
Since the season began, Manchester United have looked far from their best, which became immediately evident when Spurs themselves thrashed them 3-0 at Old Trafford.
After a draw against Southampton today, United now sit on 22 points, a whole 8 behind Tottenham with the North Londoners having a game in hand too.
I for one couldn’t blame the player for wanting to leave for bigger things if that’s what motivates him as a footballer, but let’s be honest, he stands a better chance of winning the title at Spurs this season.
