‘I would be stunned’ – Pundit makes positive Harry Kane prediction for Spurs

Darren Bent has explained in a recent appearance on talkSPORT why Tottenham Hotspur would never consider selling Harry Kane to London rivals Chelsea, adding that he would be stunned if the striker left Spurs at all this summer.

Kane has been with Tottenham for his whole career – aside from a few loan spells here and there – having come through the club’s academy and youth teams to become a true legend in North London.

The 29-year-old scored his 267th goal for Spurs at the weekend in a 1-0 win over Manchester City. The goal saw Kane break Jimmy Greaves’ longstanding record to become the club’s all-time top goalscorer (GOAL), with plenty of time to spare, too.

That goal also saw Kane reach the 200 club in the list of all-time scorers in the Premier League era, joining Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer. It is now thought that Kane will end up breaking Shearer’s, if he stays fit and if he stays in the league until the end of his career.

With just 18 months left on his contract at Spurs (Transfermarkt), there is speculation that Kane may move on in the pursuit of trophies, but Bent says Chelsea are the one club who will never get the England captain.

He told talkSPORT (07/02/23 at 5:40 pm): “I would be stunned if he leaves Spurs. The ideal spot for him is, of course, Manchester United or Chelsea.

“There is no way on the planet that Daniel Levy is selling him to Chelsea. That’s not going to happen, just because of the hatred of the two clubs. Manchester United is the one that makes sense.

“But I have just got this feeling, he just broke Jimmy Greaves’ record, and he is going to score on and score many more goals. He has it all good at Spurs.

“I am looking at it and how much he loves playing for that football club, it will probably mean more to him to win any type of trophy at Spurs than maybe go to Manchester United and win a fair few.

“It looks like to me, his likely destination is to be exactly where he is at.”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is absolutely no way Spurs would sell Kane to Chelsea, and I can’t see Kane leaving at all now. He’s got everything he needs at Tottenham, and the club should push on and invest in this squad to make sure we win a trophy before Kane retires.
