Ian Wright names the four Spurs stars who are ‘enough to frighten you’

Ian Wright has claimed that Tottenham have the players to strike fear into the opposition if Nuno Espirito Santo can get them all playing well.

It has been a topsy-turvy start to the season for Tottenham under Nuno as they began the campaign with three 1-0 wins before falling to three consecutive losses against Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Arsenal.

The North London derby loss saw the pressure being piled on Nuno, with reports even indicating at the time that the former Wolves boss was fighting to save his job.

Tottenham fans would have been encouraged by the performances they have seen from the side since the loss to Arsenal but Nuno certainly has a lot of work to do to win the fan base over.

Wright believes that the Portuguese coach has the players at his disposal to striker fear into the opposition teams.

He insisted that Nuno has to find a way of getting the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli playing at their best.

The former Arsenal man told the Kelly and Wrighty Show (17/10/21) “The same with Ndombele, with the ability that I have seen, they have to get more out of him because he is creative.

“He’s the person that they are going to need in there, alongside Hojbjerg and whether it’s Skipp or Winks.

“To get that creative energy going. To get Dele going. To get Harry going. To get Son going.

“He’s got the pieces, it’s how he wants to get it done because you look at those players I have named, those four players alone, that’s enough to frighten you when they are on form.

“Ndombele, when you watch him, he needs a rocket. When you look at technical ability, and what he’s capable of, he’s got more and somebody has to get it out of him.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure Dele belongs in the same category as the other three but Wright certainly makes a valid point about the quality of our squad. I personally do not think even our backline is as bad as some people make it out to be. While we are not as good as the top four teams, we have more than enough firepower to be finishing comfortably in the top six.
