Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright suggests that a EURO 2020 and Brentford star could be a player that Tottenham sign in the near future.

Tottenham previously tried to sign Damsgaard
Denmark international, Mikkel Damsgaard, burst onto the scene in 2021 when the 20-year-old creative midfielder netted twice in his five appearances at EURO 2020. Most notably, he curled in a magnificent free-kick against England in the semi-final.
Damsgaard, who was then at Sampdoria, attracted plenty of attention following the tournament with Tottenham believed to be ahead of Juventus and Inter Milan in the race to sign the breakout star. (TuttoMercatoWeb)
Sampdoria retained their star man however, selling Damsgaard just a year later for £10.1 million to Premier League side Brentford, although it has taken a while for the midfielder to find his feet in England. (The Athletic)

Wright believes Damsgaard could be a future Spurs player
After an uninspiring first few seasons for the Bees, Damsgaard is starting to find his form, inspiring a 5-3 victory over Wolves by setting up two of the host’s goals.
The magical performance means Damsgaard has worked his way back into the discussion of a move to a top side, with ex-Arsenal forward, Ian Wright, claiming the Dane could catch the eye of Spurs.
Wright said: “I remember he scored that free kick against England, and at the time I think Barcelona were all over him, the two Milan teams were all over him, Spurs. Yeah, with the form he has now, you could see him somewhere like Spurs.” (Wrighty’s House Podcast)

Damsgaard would struggle for minutes at Tottenham
As exciting a player as Damsgaard may be, in reality, it would be hard for the 24-year-old to break into Spurs’ first-team.
James Maddison would be Damsgaard’s biggest rival for the creative midfield role, although the 27-year-old has shown signs of his best form after struggling to make an impact after a troubling ankle injury last year.
Dejan Kulusevski is another name whose midfield transformation would likely shut the door for Damsgaard’s potential arrival.
The Swede has blown away Spurs fans with his performances in the middle of the park, with Kulusevksi himself even admitting “I have waited to play in this position. I feel completely unstoppable”. (Viaplay Fotboll)
