Dominic Solanke recently completed a £65 million move to Tottenham, a signing that Arsenal legend Ian Wright has admitted his jealousy towards as The Gunners remain searching for a new forward.

Solanke joined Tottenham from Bournemouth last week
Dominic Solanke completed his move from Bournemouth to Tottenham on the 11th of August in a deal rumoured by BBC Sport to be worth an initial £55 million with an extra £10 million in add-ons.
Spurs manager, Ange Postecoglou, was honest about his intention to sign a striker before Solanke’s arrival, stating in pre-season (The Athletic): “It’s still the area of the park [striker] we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us.”
Tottenham’s bitter rivals, Arsenal, have also been in the market for a striker, according to the Evening Standard, who reported as long ago as May that Arteta wanted to add a new number 9 to his squad ahead of pre-season – a wish that is yet to be met.

Ian Wright has tipped Solanke to be the ‘signing of the season’
The fact that Ian Wright’s beloved former side, Arsenal, haven’t signed a striker and Tottenham have doesn’t seem to be lost on the ex-forward who expressed his envy at Spurs’ latest signing on the latest episode of The Overlap.
Wright said: “You know, I wouldn’t have been too… that wouldn’t have bothered me if they [Arsenal] went for Solanke.
“With [Gabriel] Jesus and [Gabriel] Martinelli, they lost their place last season, but we can probably get the goals from them if they get back to where we know they can be.
“Dominic Solanke could be the signing of the season at £65m.
“I like that move for them and I think he could be a good signing with the way he plays, he doesn’t get injured, he scores goals”.
Spurs Web opinion
It’s always a promising side to hear that some fans of your closest rivals can’t help but be envious of your club, even better when it’s one of your rivals’ legends.
I share Ian Wright’s belief though, although £65 million is a lot of money, strikers come at a premium these days, especially Premier League-proven ones, due to the sheer shortage of top-class strikers in the game,
Tottenham seem to have signed one of the top-quality ones in Solanke and, as Ian Wright said, the price tag will soon be forgotten should the 26-year-old hit the ground running as every Spurs fan is hoping.
