“I’d be stunned” – Sky Sports reporter expects Spurs striker to head out on loan next season

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge believes that Tottenham youngster Dane Scarlett is ready for a loan move away from N17 next season in order to experience regular first-team football.

Scarlett has made just one first-team Premier League appearance for Spurs, however, he has featured eight times for the Under-23 side, scoring on one occasion (TransferMarkt).

The 18-year-old has already caught the eye of Antonio Conte, with the Italian claiming that Scarlett is “a really important prospect” for the future of the club (Football.London).

However, with the Telegraph reporting that Conte wants to add a striker to his squad this summer, the already sparse number of opportunities that Scarlett has may dry up completely.

Bridge has suggested that a loan move to a lower league outfit would suit all parties in this scenario.

“The encouraging thing for him is that Mourinho was so excited about him, and Conte has mentioned him constantly.

Bridge told GiveMeSport:“It will come down to what Tottenham can do in the market, but I’m sure they’re bound to want to get him out on loan to an EFL club, I’d be stunned if they didn’t.”

The England Under-19 international will be hoping to impress if given the chance of first-team football and it would likely do wonders for his development.

Dane would attract a number of suitors at all three levels of the EFL and it would likely be the break that he needs in order to develop his game.

When you look at the game time that Troy Parrott has gained at MK Dons this season, it is clear to see the benefits that a loan move can bring to a young player.

Parrott scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 41 League One games this season and it will be interesting to see what the club’s plans are for him ahead of the next campaign (TransferMarkt).
