‘I’ll be doing my best’ – Spurs representative in charge of Kim Min-Jae pursuit speaks out

The rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur with a move for Beijing Guoan defender Kim Min-Jae do not show any signs of dissipating as the latest reports from South Korea indicate that that the North Londoners are still looking to snap up the centre-back.

It was previously reported that Lazio’s offer of €13m plus €2m in bonuses for the South Korean had been accepted by Beijing Guoan, with the Italians even holding a meeting with Kim’s entourage a few days ago (La Lazio Siamo Noi).

However, SPOTV News now report that, despite Lazio having their bid accepted, they are still said to be waiting on a decision from Kim and the defender is said to prefer a move to Tottenham.

The report claims that Tottenham are currently weighing up whether or not to make another offer for the central defender.

Meanwhile, Naver Sports have spoken to Spurs’ representative currently dealing with the Chinese Super League club over Kim’s transfer, and he seemed positive about the chances of the South Korean finalising his move to North London.

The representative is quoted as saying: “I haven’t heard about anything over Lazio. As a negotiation representative, I’ll be doing my best to make Kim’s Tottenham transfer happen.”

“I cannot reveal details for security reasons, and the situation isn’t so easy. However, I’m not being negative.

“Wherever that would be, if he goes to a club that he wants, we will be happy for him. But my priority as Tottenham’s negotiation representative is to make his transfer to Spurs happen and I’ll do so.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The South Korean media understandably seem desperate for Kim to join Son at Spurs but it does not appear as if the 23-year-old is a priority for us this window. Seeing as we seem to have our attentions tied up in other deals, I would not be surprised to see Lazio snap up the centre-back.
