Tottenham Hotspur started off the transfer window in fantastic fashion by shattering their transfer record for Tanguy Ndombele, while also securing the services of Jack Clarke from Leeds before loaning him back to the Championship club for next season (BBC).
This early activity seemed to indicate that the club were set for a summer spending spree, however, not even a single player has walked through the door since that point as we enter the final few days of the transfer window.
This has caused some fans to worry that the club’s summer business might be finished. Some Spurs fans took to social media to urge the club to make a statement by signing Crystal Palace wide man Wilfried Zaha.
Zaha has been linked with a move to Arsenal all summer but the move failed to materialise as the Gunners couldn’t meet Palace’s asking price (the Express).
The Independent report that the Ivorian’s representatives have also been in contact with Tottenham this summer but that the Lilywhites are currently not interested in signing him.
Some Spurs fans couldn’t figure out why the club wouldn’t be interested in the 26-year-old.
Please sign @wilfriedzaha

He’s the type of player we are desperate for

I think Zaha would be a great signing. We lack real out and out pace, directness and power in the side. As another poster has said no guarantee players from other leagues will succeed in the PL. Top dribbler after Hazard in the PL last season.

Liverpool were in a similar place once upon a time, they stumped up the cash for Mane, Salah & they helped take them to the next level. I think he’s worth the extra £££ to Lo Celso, since he’s done it in the prem before and would (hopefully do so instantly). Shame.
