‘I’m sure’ – Ange Postecoglou comments on more Spurs signings and sales

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that we are likely to see more movement from Tottenham in the summer transfer window before it slams shut in September.

Spurs have already brought a number of new faces through the door this summer, including Postecoglou himself.

The likes of James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Manor Solomon, Micky Van de Ven, Ashley Phillips, and Alejo Veliz followed the permanent deals for Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro.

However, Tottenham have only parted ways with three first-team players so far, Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Joe Rodon (loan), which has left them with a rather bloated squad.

Postecoglou has now confirmed that Spurs will need to sell/loan some players before bringing new faces in over the next two weeks.

It appears that Tottenham fans should prepare themselves for a busy final fortnight of the transfer window, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Postecoglou promises late transfer window action

He said (Football London): “That’s the reality of it. We can’t just keep acquiring players. That affects training and it affects the players. Our focus right now is to try to trim the squad down and see where that takes us. There’s still a couple of weeks left of the window and I’m sure we’ll see movement.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham started the window so well and I thought this was finally going to be the year when Daniel Levy and co took outgoings seriously. We have come to the point where we need to just take what we can for players to start this rebuild, even if it means a financial hit. Yet here we still are.
