‘In contact’ – Paratici speaks highly of Italy star amidst Spurs links

Fabio Paratici, in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio, has hailed Domenico Berardi after rumours that he wants to lure the Italian winger to Tottenham this summer.

Gazzetta Dello Sport reported last month that Tottenham had knocked on the door of Sassuolo, along with other Premier League clubs, to enquire about the midfielder’s situation.

Paratici did little to silence the rumours and spoke of how he almost signed the Italy star for Juventus.

He said: “Berardi was very close to Juventus, but I am happy for him because we have been in contact for three years.

“We started dealing with him after a few games, he’s a great talent and it would have been a shame not to be able to show him internationally. I am happy for him.

“We have always been very convinced of him, a guy with great quality and above all a crazy character. His main gift is his tenacity and the desire to improve every day.”

Gazzetta Dello Sport also claimed that it would cost £43 million to prize Berardi away from Sassuolo this summer, with Paratici still yet to make his first signing as Tottenham’s Managing Director of Football.

Paratici seems to be very bold in the transfer market, there have been many names linked in recent weeks that would appear to be very good signings.

Berardi would be a fantastic capture; at 26-years-old he’s at the perfect age to slot into Tottenham’s right-hand side, especially since the re-signing of Bale now looks like a no show.
