In Focus – Every single Spurs player steps up in incredible Champions League performance

Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the quarter finals of the Champions League tonight with a 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund away from home.

This performance capped off a 4-0 aggregate win over the round of 16 two legs.

It would be impossible to pick out just one player from tonight’s match, so why not pick them all out?

Hugo Lloris was incredible tonight, pulling off numerous saves, including some point blanc stops to earn his clean sheet.

Jan Vertonghen was arguably the man of the match over the two legs, and kept his side in the game tonight on more than one occasion. That last ditch challenge 10 minutes in springs to mind.

Davinson Sanchez started a little nervy but found his feet and marked Alcacer out the game.

Toby Alderweireld was his usual silky self, a rock at the back and pin point with his passing into midfield and the channels.

Serge Aurier was uncharacteristically solid and sensible in defence tonight, as well as being a threat down the right wing.

Ben Davies was similarly dogged in defence, marking Sancho out the game from minute 1.

Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko epitomised the work rate and passion for Spurs tonight as they battled and brawled before keeping their calm on the ball and using it well.

Christian Eriksen was key in midfield, retaining possession and picking some nice balls, but he was also disciplined in his defensive duties.

Much like Eriksen, Son was disciplined on that left hand side, tracking his full back all game, as well as getting in behind himself.

Finally, Harry Kane was what he so often is: the match winner.
