In Focus: Juan Foyth

After a man of the match display against West Ham in the Carabao Cup, young Juan Foyth was handed his first ever Premier League start since arriving at Spurs.

Foyth was also called up to the Argentina senior squad last month for the first time, showing just how highly regarded he is.

The young Argentine looked extremely comfortable and positive in the first half when Spurs were dominating possession.

The Lilywhites ran out to a 3-0 lead courtesy of Lamela, Moura and Kane.

However, once the pressure mounted on the Tottenham defence as Wolves battled for any way back in the game, Foyth began to crumble.

The centre back gave away both penalties that gifted the newly promoted side a way back into the game.

This gave Tottenham a nervy 3-2 score line heading into the final 10 minutes.

Foyth was moved into midfield, with Sanchez coming on to fill in at the back towards the end of the game.

Perhaps it won’t be a debut he looks back on with adulation, but there were plenty of positives to take from Foyth, and hopefully he will be handed another chance to improve upon this display.
