In Focus: Moussa Sissoko should get player of the season

Many may believe that Heung Min Son is a more worthy candidate for player of the season at Tottenham, but I disagree.
In my view, it comes down to the fact that Son’s position and role in the side grabs more headlines and gets more bums off seats.
Goals win games, and Son has been providing plenty. However, I would say that Moussa Sissoko has been a more consistent driving force in that Tottenham midfield.
He has played more games than nearly every other Spurs player. He contributes defensively, with driving forward runs, positive passes, and strength and power, albeit without a goal threat.
Without him this season, especially with our injuries, we would have really struggled. He’s played centre mid, right back, and right wing, all with amazing success.
Credit where credit is due, even to the more defensive and less glamorous players.
Fair play to Moussa for putting his awful Tottenham career beginnings behind him and pushing through to become the player he is today. If only he’d scored that goal against Liverpool.
