In Focus: Moussa Sissoko

I wasn’t sure I’d ever be writing a positive In Focus segment on Moussa Sissoko, but here I am.

Sissoko has been proving all his doubters wrong these past couple of weeks, with sterling performance after sterling performance.

The Frenchman may be playing his way into becoming a permanent starter for Pochettino’s team with form like this.

Sissoko was a thorn in Manchester City and Benjamin Mendy’s side all evening at Wembley.

The marauding City left back only managed one meaningful run into the opposition final third, due to Sissoko pegging him back in his defensive area.

Sissoko drove forward powerfully with the ball at his feet time and time again throughout the 90 minutes.

He got in behind the City defence on numerous occasions, and looked like a constant danger.

The only thing needed from the midfielder was a slightly more confident end product.

However, he is proving to be a very valuable asset this season, especially with injuries and heavy fixture pile ups.
