‘Incorrect’ – Pundit claims Tottenham were ‘robbed’ vs Sporting last night

TalkSPORT pundit and former Spurs player, Jamie O’Hara claimed Tottenham were ‘robbed’ last night in the Champions League as Harry Kane’s late goal was ruled out by VAR.

Despite another sub-par display, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium erupted in the 95th minute when Kane smashed home to earn the Lilywhites all three points against Sporting Lisbon.

However, VAR reviewed the goal for the next five minutes and eventually chalked it off, meaning the game ended 1-1 – before Conte was shown a red card for his reaction to the decision.

A victory over Sporting, alongside Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-1 win over Marseille, would have sent Tottenham through to the knockouts as Group D winners. Unfortunately, the Lilywhites now need a draw away to Marseille to earn safe passage and a win to absolutely guarantee top spot.

Reacting to the game on Sports Bar, O’Hara was furious with the decision from the VAR, claiming it was simply incorrect (TalkSPORT).

He said: “Spurs get absolutely robbed… ROBBED by VAR.

“I was running around the office five minutes ago. Honestly, what am I seeing? It’s not offside!

“The law has got it wrong. It’s wrong. It’s incorrect. The more I look at it, the more Harry Kane is offside.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

No matter how many times you watch it, it still looks onside. But Spurs can’t act like the victims now. They have to go to Marseille and fight for all three points to claim their spot at the top of Group D.
