‘Incredible person’ – Premier League star heaps praise on Spurs’ Harry Kane

Conor Coady has praised Harry Kane after his recent performance for England and believes the Tottenham striker responded to criticism of his form this season in the perfect way.

Kane notched a first-half hat-trick in the Three Lions’ 5-0 demolition of Albania at Wembley on Friday night.

The 28-year-old’s club form has come under plenty of scrutiny this season, where he has struggled in front of goal and currently has just one Premier League strike to his name.

Much has been made of Kane’s issues, after coming off a summer full of rumours linking him with a move to Manchester City as well as losing out in the Euro 2020 final to Italy in July.

However, Kane’s England teammate and Wolves defender Coady has leapt to the defence of the striker, and suggests his recent international showing was the best way of responding to the doubters.

He said (via the Independent): “He is a fantastic player and, more importantly, an incredible person.

“Criticism is something that comes all the time as footballers but we know how good he is and he is one of the best strikers in the world. It was a perfect hat-trick the other night. What a player he is.”

Yes, the hat-trick was against an opponent that left a lot to be desired, but everyone knows Kane can do that to plenty of teams regardless. Hopefully, we can see him carry this on into the domestic campaign and finally kick on.
