Injured Spurs star reveals what he is missing following Premier League delay

Tottenham Hotspur recent signing Steven Bergwijn has taken to Instagram to reveal what he is missing playing football.

The 23-year-old made the move to North London from PSV Eindhoven in January for a fee of around £25.6million plus add-ons (Metro).

Bergwijn was thrown straight into the Premier League, starting Spurs’ clash with Manchester City and repaid Jose Mourinho’s faith in him by scoring a stunning volley into the bottom corner of Ederson’s goal in front of the single tier south stand at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Dutchman celebrated his strike celebrated in his traditional trademark manner, by covering his face with one hand and crossing two of his fingers.

He admitted in a post on Instagram which included a photo of him celebrating a goal in a Spurs shirt that he is missing the elation of the ball hitting the back of the net.

Jose Mourinho admitted before the Premier League season was postponed that he expected Bergwijn to miss the rest of the campaign following the ankle injury he suffered in the draw at Burnley earlier this month (BBC).

It remains to be seen whether he will be ready to play once he season finally resumes.
