Bryan Gil has taken to social media to confirm that he is now nearing full fitness.

Following the acquisition of Brennan Johnson, Ange Postecoglou has an embarrassment of riches in the forward line, with the Welshman competing with the likes of Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison, Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic for three positions.

Postecoglou’s options are going to be boosted even further soon, with Gil now stating on Instagram stories that he will be back in action ‘soon’

Bryan Gil is set to return to Spurs training soon

The 22-year-old has been out of action since the start of pre-season with a groin problem, which means that the new Spurs head coach has not really been able to get a closer look at him in training.

Alasdair Gold admitted in a Q&A on Football.London last week that he is ‘fascinated’ to see whether Gil will get game time, with the journalist opining that the Spaniard ‘fits nicely’ into the way that Postecoglou wants his wingers to play.

Following Johnson’s arrival, I do not see how Gil is going to get any minutes, even as a substitute, particularly given that Spurs are out of the Carabao Cup and have no European football this season.
