Injury update provided on Cristian Romero ahead of Man City opener

Nuno Espirito Santo has provided an update on the fitness of Cristian Romero to journalists who have dialled into Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Manchester City press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of Nuno answering questions prior to the visit of the current Premier League champions to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Pre-match press conferences continue to take place on the Zoom video conferencing following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, which has impacted the ability of journalists being able to attend Hotspur Way in person.

Journalist Jonathan Veal, who was part of the call revealed on Twitter that the recent signing from Atalanta has recovered from the injury he sustained at the Copa America and his condition will be assessed following tomorrow’s training session.

Nuno, however, is treading carefully with the 23-year-old due to his lack of training sessions with the squad.
