‘Intensity’ – Conte reacts to debut performances from Kulusevski and Bentancur

Recording a 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, Spurs moved on to the fifth round of the FA Cup, highlighted by a Harry Kane brace and a debut for the club’s two new signings.

Following the match, Antonio Conte delivered his assessment of the debuts of both Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

Conte said (Football London): “It was important also to breathe the atmosphere for the two new signings. It was important to come in and understand the intensity of the league.

“I repeat, two good players, two young players with talent. I’m pleased that I gave them the opportunity to come in and also breathe this fantastic atmosphere in our stadium.”

Kulusevski came on in the 69th minute for Lucas Moura, while Bentancur joined his former Juventus teammate in the 77th minute, subbing on for Harry Winks.

Conte also added how the experience of his two new players can help Spurs going forward (Football London).

He said: “Rodrigo, despite his age, only 24-years old, has a lot of experience because he played 120 games for Juventus. Kulusevski, the same. I think they can help us.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Both Kulusevski and Bentancur had some promising moments in their debuts for the club, and with two Premier League fixtures coming up next week, both of them should see more minutes and make their league debuts in a Spurs shirt.

Both players should contribute to the team’s push for the top four, Bentancur with his defence, and Kulusevski for his creativity and versatility.
