Inter chief speaks on rumoured Bale bid

Inter Milan’s chief executive officer denied a report that his team is planning a £40 million offer for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale.

The Guardian newspaper reported earlier today that Inter were set to make a bumper offer for the Welshman.

“It is incorrect,” Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo said in a telephone interview. “It’s not true.”

Harry Redknapp has previously said that 21-year-old Bale is not for sale.
