Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a highly-rated Serbian international, but they are having to contend with competition from a Premier League rival and a Serie A club for the player.
Many Spurs fans have questioned whether the Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha double-pivot costs Tottenham creatively.
It has been suggested that the Lilywhites could enter the market in January to solve that problem, and a 20-year-old starlet is thought to be on the club’s radar.
It was reported a few days ago that Tottenham are battling Newcastle United and Inter Milan for Aleksandar Stankovic, who is turning a lot of heads with his impressive performances for Club Burgge.
However, the same update explained that Inter have a buy-back clause for Stankovic next summer, which could complicate the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the midfielder.

Are Inter Milan expected to buy back Tottenham target Aleksandar Stankovic?
A report in Gazzetta dello Sport has backed up Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United’s interest in the 20-year-old.
The outlet says that the Premier League duo have been attracted by Stankovic’s ‘stellar performances’ for Brugge this season, and are eyeing a move.
It is revealed that the Nerazzurri have a buy-back clause of €23m (£20.3m) in the summer of 2026, which increases to €25m (£22m) in the summer of 2027.
Gazzetta say that Inter are currently evaluating Hakan Calhanoglu’s future beyond the end of the season, and suggest that Stankovic could be an option to replace the Turk next summer.
Inter may sell Stankovic to Spurs for a profit
Meanwhile, another report from Tuttosport also covers the interest of Spurs and the Magpies in the 20-year-old, stating that the English duo are ‘above all’ in the race for the Serbian international.
They question if Inter actually need Stankovic at the moment and suggest that the midfielder will not be a regular starter for the Italian club even if they exercise their buy-back clause.
However, interestingly, they claim that the Serie A giants could activate the buy-back clause for the 20-year-old and sell him on for a sizable profit.
