Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has revealed that the Nerazzurri have offered a new contract to rumoured Tottenham target Milan Skriniar.
Reports over recent months have indicated that Antonio Conte wants to strengthen at centre-back in January, with Japhet Tanganga expected to leave the club (Evening Standard) and the Spurs boss alleged to have lost faith in Davinson Sanchez (Marca).
Skriniar, whose current contract at Inter runs out next summer (Transfermarkt), is thought to be one of the options on the North London club’s radar (90 min).
CalcioMercatWeb.it reported last week that Spurs would be prepared to offer €30m (£26.1m) to the Serie A club for the 27-year-old in January.
However, the report added that Simone Inzaghi’s men were not willing to let Skriniar leave in January and remain hopeful that he will sign a new deal at the San Siro.
Ausilio has now confirmed that the ball is in the centre-back’s court as Inter have presented him with a new deal.

He said (via Fabrizio Romano): “We’ve made an important bid to Milan Skriniar as we want to extend his contract. We are optimistic, it’s up to Skriniar.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Skriniar appears to be quite committed to Inter and I expect him to put pen to paper on a new deal. De Vrij’s situation seems to be different as the Dutchman appears slightly more hesitant to sign a new deal. That is why the 30-year-old would be a more realistic target for Spurs than the former Sampdoria man in January.
