Peter Coates has rejected talk linking Stoke with Robbie Keane.
Coates has refused to rule out a move for Keane, but believes they do not need any striking reinforcements as they are well stocked in attack.
The chairman said: “Anyone would be interested in Keane, but we think we are pretty well covered in that department.
“So I am not expecting that to be the case, but you keep your options open. That is the secret.”
