International teammate of rumoured Spurs target tells player to move clubs

Rumoured Tottenham target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should leave Rubin Kazan for a major European league this summer, his international teammate Gia Grigalava has claimed.

Kvaratskhelia has gone from strength to strength since moving to Ruben Kazan from Lokomotiv Moscow two years ago.

The winger particularly impressed last season, scoring four goals and providing eight assists in the Russian Premier League.

Reports from Italy have indicated that the 20-year-old’s performances have attracted the attention of both Spurs and AC Milan. It was alleged that Kazan valued the youngster at around €18m (£15.5million).

Tottenham have already strengthened their wide areas with their capture of Bryan Gil from Sevilla and it remains to be seen whether Fabio Paratici will also push ahead with a move for Kvaratskhelia.

The youngster’s Georgian international teammate, Grigalava, is certainly not in any doubt that the time has come for the wide man to leave Russian football.

When asked about the speculation regarding the Kazan star’s future, the experienced defender, who also plays his football in Russia with Arsenal Tula, told Sport24: “If you ask for advice, I will tell you my opinion.

“He’d better leave now. The earlier the better. He is completely ready for Europe.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is unclear if there is any truth to this link or if it is a case of the Kvaratskhelia’s agent feeding the rumour about Tottenham’s interest to the press. I would be surprised if we signed another winger this summer unless we sell one of either Moura or Bergwijn.
