Is Harry Kane mentally ready to play? – Pochettino answers

Up until recently, Tottenham had been without their star striker Harry Kane for six weeks, during which time they didn’t drop a single Premier League point.

They also managed to defeat German League leaders Borussia Dortmund 3-0 at Wembley in the Champions League during this spell.

Kane has returned to the starting line up for two consecutive games now, and Spurs have gone on to lose back-to-back Premier League fixtures.

This has called into question whether Kane is physically and mentally ready to start so many games fresh off the back of his injury.

Despite scoring against Burnley, Kane has looked well off his game, which is to be expected after a lengthy period out, however there is one other abnormality.

Kane is never one to lose his head in a match, but was seen moving his forehead towards that of Azpilicueta in a headbutt motion against Chelsea last night.

Despite this out of character moment, Pochettino insists he is ready.

Poch said (Football London): “He fought today, ran today and was on the pitch. Perfect level on the pitch, physically and mentally.”
