Is this factor now holding Tottenham back?

Tottenham Hotspur left it late again today, this time in the Premier League, as they beat Burnley 1-0 at Wembley.

Spurs struggled to break down a resolute Burnley defence for 90 minutes before Christian Eriksen came off the bench to smash home the winner.

This continues Tottenham’s fine form in the League, their best ever start to a season after 17 games.

However, one factor is beginning to show more and more as the weeks pass, and that is the Wembley factor.

Spurs are now capped at 51,000 seats at the national stadium for the majority of their Premier League fixtures, something that already zaps a lot of the atmosphere.

However, a general feeling of frustration around the ground, and the lack of a new ground, has resulted in even fewer actually turning up for games.

Just over 41,000 made the trip today, and it certainly felt like it.

The game lacked noise, atmosphere, and urgency, something that is bred by a full stadium, packed to the rafters with die-hard fans.

The sooner Spurs can get themselves in that new ground the better, otherwise they may start to see a drop in form on the pitch.
