Harry Redknapp has spoken in glowing terms of the enthusiasm Antonio Conte exudes on the sidelines and believes it has rubbed off onto the Tottenham squad.
Tottenham are unbeaten in the Premier League under Conte, having won three and drawn two of their five matches since the Italian’s arrival.
The North Londoners have also seen a significant improvement defensively, having conceded just three goals in those five games, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
On Wednesday night, Spurs sealed progression to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after putting in a professional performance to overcome West Ham 2-1.
Conte will look at the competition as a great opportunity to win his first trophy as Tottenham head coach and end the club’s trophy drought.
Redknapp is not surprised by the impact the 52-year-old has had on the Spurs squad, insisting the players cannot help but buy into Conte’s ideas given his passion for the game.
The former Spurs manager told talkSPORT (22/12/21 at 7:45 am): “It’s the enthusiasm. He shows that enthusiasm, if you’re not enthusiastic as a manager, then you can’t expect the players to be. It comes from the top.

“When you look at him from the touchline when they score. He kicks every ball and he is probably like that on the training pitch as well. I think that rubs off on the team and the players.
“He is into them. He demands high standards every day and certainly on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. He’s getting that from them, at last. They are performing.”

I felt that Nuno Espirito Santo was harshly treated and was set up to be the fall guy at Spurs. However, while the Portuguese coach was a nice man, the word ‘enthusiasm’ was probably the last one you would use to describe him. The difference between Nuno and Conte in terms of the passion they exude is night and day.
