Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has admitted that rumoured Tottenham target Dominic Solanke could be lured away from the Vitality Stadium.
Solanke has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the attacking style of football that Iraola has implemented since arriving at the South Coast in the summer.
The Englishman has been one of the most prolific strikers across the Premier League so far this season and it has emerged over the last few weeks that bigger clubs are now taking notice of his displays.
Spurs are thought to be one of them, with The Sun reporting a few days ago that Tottenham are plotting a move for the 26-year-old during next summer’s transfer window.
The report added that the Lilywhites want to sign a centre-forward to fill Harry Kane’s shoes and that many at the North London side have been impressed by the Chelsea academy graduate, and believe that he would shine at a higher level.
Should Spurs spend big on Dominic Solanke?
Iraola failed to rule out the possibility of Solanke being poached by one of the Premier League’s heavy hitters, insisting that the Bournemouth star is good enough to get into the England squad.
When asked about the speculation over the striker’s future, the Cherries head coach told The Independent: “There are clubs with huge financial potential in England and it could happen.
“He’s good enough for Gareth Southgate to call him up for the national team, although he’s aware of the competition he has to play at the Euros in Germany.
“Hopefully, he will make the final squad. He has that dream and it would be good news for everyone.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It looks inevitable that Solanke will make a step up to a bigger club next summer and Tottenham are almost certainly likely to be in the market for a number nine.
Depending on whether the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal sign a top-quality striker in January, there could be a bidding war for the Bournemouth star’s services next summer.
