““It is absolutely phenomenal“ – Former Spur on new stadium

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Graham Roberts believes that fans will have the best stadium in the world.

Work continues on the 62,062 seater stadium which was originally scheduled to open last month.

The Premier League match against Liverpool had to be moved to Wembley after construction issues meant the opening had to be delayed.

Roberts revealed that he paid a visit to the stadium recently and boldly stated that there is potentially nothing in the world which can compare to our new home.

Last month Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said that he hoped to announce an opening date as soon as possible.

The stadium’s chief engineer revealed to the BBC that the pitch could be installed as early as next week, which would be a huge sign that we are close to a new opening date.

Roberts said on the Boys From White Hart Lane podcast: “People who haven’t been outside the stadium lately, then they should go down and have a look.

“We are going to have, if not the best, then one of the best [stadiums] in the world.

“It is absolutely phenomenal.

“I went down there the other day, I went inside a little bit and everything is magnificent.”

He continued: “Yes, we all know it is behind but when it is built, it is going to be one of the best.

“When you go inside and see the floodlights come on, then there is nothing in Europe or maybe in the world that could be comparable.”
