‘It was good for Harry’ – Conte on Kane’s conversation with Del Pierro

Antonio Conte has claimed that having a chance to speak with Alessandro Del Pierro will benefit Harry Kane.

Del Pierro was invited to Hotspur Way by Conte yesterday as the Juventus legend was in London to see his old club take on Chelsea in the Champions League.

The former Italy international was pictured with both Conte and Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici, and according to The Daily Mail, he was shown around Spurs’ training ground by the pair.

In addition, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min also posted pictures with the 47-year-old, admitting their delight at being able to meet the Juventus legend.

Conte admitted that it was a pleasure to meet his former Juve teammate and that having him in N17 helped to lift the spirits of the squad.

The Spurs boss also added that both Del Pierro and Kane would have benefitted from being able to pick each other’s brains.

When asked about the legendary striker coming to visit him and his colleagues, Conte told Football.London: “Alessandro came here to visit us at the training ground. He was in London as a guest for Sky for the Chelsea vs Juventus game.

“It was good to see him. We played together, I coached him and we won a lot in our career. Good to see him after a long time.

“Yeah but we’re talking about two world-class strikers. It was good for Harry to see Alessandro and it was the same for Alessandro to see him! Alessandro cheered all the players and it was good for us.”
