‘It will happen on Sunday’ – Fabrizio Romano reveals winger will sign Spurs deal today

Tottenham Hotspur winger Mikey Moore will commit his future to the club today by signing his new contract, according to Fabrizio Romano

The transfer expert took to Twitter late on Saturday evening to insist that the 15-year-old will seal his future with the north Londoners.

Romano said: Understand Mikey Moore will sign his new contract at Tottenham in the next 24 hours — it will happen on Sunday.

“It’s gonna be a 3 year deal, decision has been made as called on Friday. Spurs keep one of their best talents.”

The Athletic claimed yesterday that the highly rated teenager has already put pen to paper on his contract on Friday which will see him move from scholarship to schoolboy forms and then a professional contract once he turns 17.

Romano had previously revealed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was doing “everything in his power” to ensure that Moore stays at Spurs, and appears to have achieved his aim (Twitter).

Despite his age, Moore was handed his full European debut for the U19s in their UEFA Youth League group stage fixture against Marseille back in November.

Tottenham can consider it a coup to have been able to persuade Moore to continue his footballing journey at the club despite there having been significant interest in his services from both home and abroad.

Moore is considered to be an exceptional talent and tasted success at Under-17 and Under-18 level last season for Tottenham with both sides winning silverware.

The news comes on the back of Dejan Kulusevski having completed his permanent transfer to Tottenham from Juventus.

Whether Moore signed on Friday or today is somewhat irrelevant, the most important part is that Tottenham have managed to keep one of the brightest talents in the country still at Hotspur Way.

Too often in recent times, the academy system has been overlooked as a pathway to the first team with Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho both paying little attention to looking to integrate academy players within the first team, hopefully, this changes under Ange Postecoglou.
