‘It would be a very, very big list’ – Conte on summer transfer plans at Spurs

Antonio Conte has claimed that it would be a ‘very, very big list’ if he was asked to draft a transfer list for Tottenham at this moment in time.

The Italian head coach instead insisted he would be concentrating on the final games of the season as Spurs continue to chase a potential Champions League place.

Conte added that Spurs could finish the campaign with just 15 senior first-team players, which would make it even more difficult to come up with a proper transfer list.

This comes after reports suggested that Conte wants as many as six new signings in North London this summer (The Telegraph). He allegedly wants to sign a centre-back, a right wing-back, two midfielders, a forward and a reserve goalkeeper for the squad next season.

Reports have also indicated that Conte will sit down for a meeting with Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici at the end of the campaign to decide their next steps (Football.London).

When asked if he already had a summer transfer list, Conte said (Football London): “No, no, we are totally focused on this season. Always because I repeat we are finishing this season with only 15 players. So it’s not convenient right now to give them a list because it would be a big one.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I suspect that Conte already has certain players in mind, and definitely certain positions he wants to strengthen. Paratici will also no doubt have been making calls already. However, that meeting with Levy at the end of the season will determine everything.
