Italian football expert claims rumoured Spurs target can replace Kane

Italian football expert, Conor Clancy, has urged Tottenham to follow through with their rumoured interest in Dusan Vlahovic if they lose Harry Kane this summer.

Manchester City are expected to make a big effort to prise Harry Kane away from Tottenham this summer.

If reports are to be believed, Spurs have identified the likes of Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings and Victor Osimhen as potential replacements if the England captain does leave.

Vlahovic, who is coming off an impressive campaign for Fiorentina in which he netted 21 goals in 37 appearances, is another striker who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk revealed in March that Spurs had been impressed by the 21-year-old’s displays this season while Corriere Fiorentino claimed in April (as relayed by Sport Witness) that the Premier League club had already contacted the striker’s agent over a potential move.

Clancy believes that the Serbian has the potential to evolve into a top-class striker over the coming years.

When asked about Tottenham’s rumoured pursuit of Vlahovic, he told Football Fancast: “I don’t think anyone’s good enough to replace Harry Kane but in terms of what Vlahovic could go on to do, quite possibly.

“I think the ceiling for him is higher than it would be for a lot of strikers, and he’s still very, very young. You would hope that he’s only going to get better.

“If Spurs have a coach like Pochettino, I think Vlahovic could really, really step his game up, also with Conte. You saw what Conte did with [Romelu] Lukaku.

“It depends on the coach they get in but Vlahovic is someone that most clubs should be looking at.”
